Pumpkin Patch

Rain or shine we were determined to get out to the pumpkin patch today and luckily the rain held off. The Jarrels, Jake and I walked around the fields picking out gourds and pumpkins until our hands were full and our legs gave out.

Jake has been loving the front pack as he is so interested in the world around him and it gives both of us a little bit more freedom.

No Fall pumpkin picking day is complete without a hay bail ride!

Trunk or Treat

Trunk -or-Treat Time!! Jake and I headed out to Chris' work tonight along with some friends to go trunk or treating. People decorated their trunks and dressed the part as the little kiddies walked from car to car to get their treats. Jake dressed up as a supercute Frankenstein and got a birds eye view of all the costumes as he road along with me in the front pack.
Chris met up with us just in time to sneak in some cuddles and candy before heading back to work. On the left is Jaime and her turtle Vinny, Amy and her cowboys, and me and my favorite Frankenstein! Candy was on the brain as Frankenstein eyes the candy in the cowboys hand, the other cowboy is going after the turtles sucker, and I'm sure the turtle has his eyes set on something tasty outside of the pic.

Surf and Skate

Surf was up and we had to take advantage. Here are the boys (Chris on the left, Eric, and Al) heading out to sea. Chris ended up charging the big sets (6-8ft face) and caught a few good ones despite going over the falls and through the spin cycle. I stayed much closer to shore and caught white water and ripples into the beach.

Monk seals are a protected endangered species and often come up on the beach to catch some rays. This one hung around for a bit before lugging his big blubber body back into the water.

Chris' hockey season has started and I was so excited to get some good action shots of him with our new camera...but of course the battery ran out after these two shots. So the pic of Chris going over the boards will have to due for now. The game ended up being a tie after shootout, but Chris did great and came away with two assists.

I love the sign in the backround; careful babe, the ice can be slippery when wet.

Bumbo baby!

This week we tried out the Bumbo seat. I have a love hate relationship with this big blue chair of foam: I hate the fact that I paid $45 for a chunk of polyurethane although Jake loves his pee-wee lazy boy.

All Giggles

Jake is 3 months old! He is very healthy and weighs in at 12.4lb. and is 25inches long. He is just starting to reach out and grab toys and has started to giggle more and more every day.

Jake has started to giggle and it is the sweetest sound ever!

Hanging around the house

This week we have just been hanging out around the house lately and here are a few shots of our adventures.

I thought that this was so funny when I was putting him in the carseat. All I could think of was that Jake had found the Oh Crap! handle. Hold on Jake it's going to be a bumpy ride if Mommy is driving.

We tried out the walker today and he seemed to like it. His toes barely scaped the ground, but I'm sure that before we know it he will be zipping around our ankles in no time.

H2O

Here we are with our friend Al, getting ready for some surf. Our friend Eric watched Jake on the sand so Chris and I could catch some waves together.

Chris and I have been trying to make it to the pool at least once a week to get in a workout. So far so good and Jake cheers for us on the sidelines.

Haleiwa Triathlon

Haleiwa Triathlon
400m swim~12mi bike~3mi run
Chris and I did the Haleiwa Triathlon this morning and had a great time out on the beautiful north shore. Chris did the entire tri and I did the bike/run portions while my friend Jaime (7mo prego I might add) kicked but on the swim.


The race began in near darkness and the mass (all competitors at once) start made for a human blender effect on the swim. The bike was three loops around Haleiwa town and with the early morning rain it made for some grimey, muddy, but fun conditions. The run was half trail, half beach sand. The deep sand blunted every inch of forward momentum you thought you had and really tested our endurance. Then after all that; run toward the finish line and head straight for the healthy race food. (powdered donuts and cookies)

Jake was there of course giving lots of smiles in support. Al (Jaimes' hubby) was a champ and watched the little tykes as the big ones went to race.

First in our division!! Our reward: massive breakfast burritos at Rosie's cafe..yum yum.
