THe weekend scoop

I finally made it to Lowes and got Jake's swing hung!

As you can see, he loves it and besides the occasional look of motion sickness he has yet to puke!

We have hit another learning milestone this past week as Jake has moved on past taking everything apart or out of the containers and began to put the blocks back into the case and onto the train. It may seem trivial, but it blew my mind away because he NEVER took any interest in putting things onto or into something. He is a genius! (Just ask his Mom)

Date Night!! We finally found a babysitter and took a night out to go see Third Eye Blind in concert.

It was a sold out crowd and we were all packed in like sardines!

And after that great night out and a mere 3 hours of sleep we were at yet another triathlon. We are INSANE DORKS!
Al was kind enough to take on Jake for the morning along with his 2 kiddos so Jaime, Chris and I could compete individually. The swim was the roughest any of us race veterans have seen with at least 2-4ft faces. Between being thrown out of the back of a wave and free falling into a graceful belly flop back down to the water and trying to not let the rip carry me to Japan, the swim went rather well :)

The bike and run were great and Chris kicked some but coming in at 1:21. He and I agree that everything seems easier and shorter in comparison to what we went through last month in Hawaii.
I trailed my racing buddy and only lead for minutes on the bike, but that speedster took off on the run and I was never able to close the 30 sec. gap between us.

Overall I was the 4th female and 1st in my age group (a personal best finish) and Jaime came in as the 3rd overall female, she rocks.

Happy Da Da Da Da Day

Father's Day started with an early morning hike up Diamond Head. The backpack has gotten quite a bit heavier since the last time as Jake has put on a few pounds. I wanted to try and carry him to see if I would feel comfortable going on hikes by ourselves and I made it to the stairs, that's a serious workout!



The view from the top was clear as the 30mph winds pushed all the clouds away, along with all of our hats. Thanks to the kind tourists who got pummeled by visors and hats down the trail we didn't lose them forever.

Jake has started to recognize the noise from plains and helicopters and always looks up in search of the aircraft.


I went a little crazy with the camera that day because my two men where always lookin so darn cute. Anyhooo, I couldn't decide what pics to post so I chose most of them....

Proud Godparents

Sunday was a special day with the Jarrell fam as it was Chloe's baptism. I was so nervous about how Jake would do during the church service, but he did rather well (as long as we kept the goldfish coming)





Afterwards we went over to their house for some BBQ and baseball.

Jake loved Vinny's swing, our friend gave us one and we have yet to set it up...what have we been missing!


Afterwards we headed back out to the beach (we've been the last 5 days in a row now) to charge the surf. Jaime's fam watched all the kids for us and the couples all got to surf together (we haven't done that in 3+ years) Great weekend.

New Car for Chris!!!

We finally brought our new 2009 Honda Pilot home yesterday! We love it, everything about it, especially the room, the comfort, the accessibility, and the ability to do whatever we want together without being squished in our truck. It was quite comical how we would manage to squeeze in the truck and I now wish that we had pics of the good times. It was even funnier when we got one more person to go with us....Ha Ha, the things that we make our visitors endure.

I think that I mentioned this before, but I must restate the amazing savings that we got by going through Costco. The process was simple, seamless, and saved us $10,ooo!!! No haggling, no feeling like you got a "good deal" when you didn't and then to top it all off, Costco is going to thank us for using them and mail us a $50 gift card. Hands down the best car purchase experience ever!




Today we druged ourselves up with suddafed (we caught Jake's cold, Jake is now swell and well) and headed out to the South shore swell. The surfboard attachments were quick, easy, and secure. I know that I am going on and on, but the ability to do all the fun stuff that we like to do in such an easier, quicker, and more comfortable way is fantastic!

Great day with the fam even though we were sicklies we managed to get out and enjoy the day. I had a "Mom moment" today as I dashed through all the drug aisles at Wal-mart with my hands overflowing with suddafed, nasal decongestant, booggie wipes, eye drops, and infant vapor plug-ins. No, we don't need it all now, but I'll be darned if anyone of us gets sick again and I don't have anything on hand for immediate repreive. Looking on the bright side, at least we didn't catch the Swine Flu!

Beach Day

Surf was up today on our local South shore so Jake and I went to check out the action.

While we were out there I was trying to get a good shot of Jake for his surf themed Bday invitations. I planned on using ones from our ridiculously large library of beach photos, but Jake has changed so much in just the last month. His teeth have suddenly come in and it has totally transformed his baby face.



Let me know which one you think...so far I am leaning toward the first one.

After 2 macro seconds of looking in my direction he was done with the modeling and on to the sand. He loves this stuff and could toss it for hours, luckily he has yet to look up after he throws it above him.






My backyard is in bloom with orchids, herbs, and grass. Okay Okay, so the grass just hasn't been cut in a few weeks that is why it has started to bud flowers.

My oranges are getting so big, I hope the pee wee branch can hold em up until they rippen!

Koda teaching Jake how to stand watch for Kirby sales jerks, meat suppliers, and of course, cats.


I just bought this sun shade pop up tent from One Step Ahead and I love it. It pops open without any cables to assemble and is big enough for Jake and a grown up to sit under. It can be zipped all the way up or be open in the front and back for air flow. A deffinate must have with kids in Hawaii.
