I heard the horror stories and now am living my own first hand. Jake has been the human running water fountain for the past few weeks and yesterday I finally spotted the white nub of discomfort. Teething toys are still a bit too big for him so his hands have been permantly jammed into his mouth. My poor little guy has woken up every hour (for the past 4) screaming in pain and has his whole fist in his mouth by the time I get to his crib. I bought baby orajel today, but I hate that stuff myself so I am trying to hold off as long as possible. Wish us luck! Jake is getting so strong and in the past few weeks has been able to sit (Tripod style) unassisted for a good 10seconds. After about 10 seconds he realizes that his hand isn't in his mouth and goes for it..ultimately getting a bit off balanced.
He also is starting to resist the sitting position as he does "mini crunches" as Chris calls them out of his bouncer seat.

Daddy Time
Here is a quick video for the family on the mainland. Jake is getting really good at holding onto his toys and now has started to bring them to his mouth..teething toy time!

Jake's adventures this week
Tradewinds Tri
This was the last triathlon of the year and it was a sprint held out on the marine core base in Kaneohe. This was a very scenic but challenging race as the swim started off on a slipery boat ramp, the "tradewinds" proved their brutality on the bike and the run included 2 hills. I did the bike portion of a realy with Jaime (8mo prego!) swimming and Dana sprinting for the run. Chris did the whole race and was doing really well until an old injury flared back up during the run.
Happy Halloweeeeeen!!
Jake supervised me while I carved the pumpkin this year and I STILL managed to mess the carving up. All Jackolanterns have one raised eyebrow right?
We had a plan for Jakes 1st Halloween, but as you all know and I am quickly begining to accept..those never work out. Chris's flight was delayed a few hours, so no trick or treating, no pizza delivery, no dressing up in the cute (but hot) sweet pea costume, and no handing out candy to the adorable tick-or-treaters (who ended up jacking all my candy while we went to pick up chris). But, we still managed to carve a pumpkin, dress up as a kitten and the get the best treat of all, Chris coming home!
