We had visitors, it was the holidays, life got stressful and still is, but hey I'm posting now and hope that I can continue at a manageable pace. Deal? Deal. Let's begin:
Over the Thanksgiving holiday Chris' Mom, Brother, and cousin came out to visit. We enjoyed a week full of fun at the beach, seeing the sights, and shopping!
We enjoyed a beautiful hike up to Waimea falls. The lush landscape always takes my breath away and all the rain made for a great pool to swim in...if you wanted to brave the cold! Jake was afraid and chilly at first but the "get on, sit down, stop crying, and enjoy yourself" side of Motherhood came out and it worked! We had a blast!

For Colin's 1st Turkey day we enjoyed a scrumptious meal at our friend Jaime's house and a sunset surf session at the beach. Ya gotta love holidays in paradise!
I know that I am a lucky girl to say this but I still think that the worst part of pregnancy is the 6 weeks after delivery when you are not allowed to do anything. Restricted from eating certain foods (because it could upset baby), restricted in wardrobe (because you have to be able to whip out a meal at a crying notice), and restricted from exercise (of any kind..wink wink). Hands down it has been the hardest part of my pregnancies.
Needless to say when our friend, Jenny, came to the islands to visit and I was freed from my mandatory down time I jumped at the occasion to catch up, pal around and race like old times. We competed in the 10k Xterra event and I came away with a 2nd place podium finish in my age group!
Christmas was suddenly upon us and although we were missing all of our family on the mainland it was nice to have our first family Christmas at home. Jake didn't really comprehend the whole 'Santa' thing yet, but he did understand the surge of presents appearing under the tree and couldn't have been more ecstatic.

Our sweet little Colin is 3 months old and such a charmer. Any attention given is greeted with a beaming smile as well as coos and squeals of delight. He is doing well with tummy time, reaching and grasping for toys, and is endlessly entertained and enchanted with his big brothers wild activities.

I laugh when I see this picture because Colin was so frustrated that I was making him stretch his neck and turn his head to the right, but you would never know it. Colin has been struggling with a sore and possibly damaged neck muscle from birth. We noticed early on that he preferenced looking to his left side and the Dr. concluded that due to the urgent delivery some tearing may have occurred on his neck muscles making it painful and prohibiting movement. Every day we have been exercising and stretching and therapy may ensue next month if necessary, but he has come so far and seems to be doing so much bettter!
The boys and I were fighting the flu, but we still managed to ring in the New year with some firework fun! Colin fell fast asleep even with the bombs overhead and Jake did much better at not being petrified at the sight of a firecracker.
