We've hit the high notes! Sorry for the poor quality video and the lack of dialogue, but my internet keeps going out on me so I just want to get this posted.

Celebration

Jake was struggling with eating his green veggies, so I started celebrating (smiles, compliments, and clapping) after he would take a good bite ~willingly. It didn't take long for Jake to catch on, and today he was in the mood to celebrate throughout the meal. I love my little sponge.

V-Day

Happy Hearts Day everyone! We had a good week that flew by and a long weekend that flew by even faster. Here are a few pics of our outings which mostly consist of races this weekend.

Jake in another one of Chris' old outfits. Oldies are such Goodies!
Stroller Derby!! We are seriously a force to be reckoned with. We get the "Oh my gosh" faces from time to time, but mostly people smile, make way for the wide load (the stroller that is), and give compliments to our sporty little tykes.
Valentines Day Biathlon and we had to kiss for the transition. Let me tell you, this race can get racy! I did the short run and Chris did the lengthy swim. This race is always fun, light hearted, and a great location to stay at the beach and play afterward.
Shaving alert! Chris has had his fun with the gruff and is determined to clean it up by this week. So get in your last look my mountian man valentine.
People often ask, "How do you stay motivated?", and it is quite simple. When I am not really up for it, Jaime always is, and she pushes double the weight! Having a great training buddy, an awesome friend, and an inspiration living a few doors down is great motivation and support.

Today we did the Aloha run (8.15miles). I had my best finish time yet, just under an hour-yippie:) Afterwards I was suprisingly pampered at a beautiful spa complete with a swedish message and facial thanks to my hubby who had arranged everything as part of my VDay gift.
Jake is already 7months and lately has taken comfort in sitting in this position. Kids are so darn flexible!

His pediatrition gets bent out of shape about introducing sweet fruit too early and advises to wait a few more months-Oops :) Jake wants to eat whatever we eat and is so adorably curious so we started with some grapes the other day. He loved them, especially when he was able to pop one and suck out all the sweet sour juices.

What a week...

This past week has had it's ups and downs. My independent, self sufficient, "I can handle this on my own" status was tested this past week. Last Friday night and into Saturday I came down with the flu. In between throwing up sessions I heard Chris' truck start up around 1am. Mind you, Chris was on the East coast at the time! I turned on the lights, the dogs started to bark (they know the sound of his truck), and I ran to window just in time to watch the tailgate drive out of sight. Bastards! By the time the officer arrived they had found the abandoned truck a few miles away. I felt violated, frustrated at the time, effort, and energy that was going to have to be put into getting the truck and things that were taken back, and most of all I was PISSED!! Now onto Saturday-time to get ready to host Bunco for 20 girls at the house. Yeesh! Luckily my friend Jaime was hosting with me and totally set up the house and watched Jake during the day so that I could get some rest. Love ya Jaime!
The rest of the week got better, especially when Chris surprised me when he came home Wednesday instead of Friday! I cried like a baby when he said that he was at the airport in Honolulu...so unsexy right?
Bunco Babby!
My poor dogs have been so good since Jake's arrival and they have been yearning for some play time...can you tell?
Copper can't wait until Jake is old enough to actually play and throw the dog toy rather than just take it away. Jake did win this tug-of-war face off by the way. Where's the grizzly? Chris decided to grow a beard while he was away and although I don't think that it will take up permanent residence on my hubby's face, I am embracing the scruff while it lasts.

Jake helping Dad with some Gardening this afternoon.

Jake doesn't just hand out smiles and belly laughs to whomever wants them. You have to earn them from this little guy and on this particular night the word "ribbit" was worthy of the giggle marathon.
