The Great Aloha Run

This is a 8.15 mile running race that attracts tens and thousands of people each year. This is my 4th time running it and of course my running buddy Jaime was by my side the entire way. We kicked but and came in at 1:01....that's a 7:30min per mile pace! I was 6th in my age division which included over 1300 women. We run so much faster without those jogging strollers ;)
For those wondering why and how I run while prego the simple answer is that running was and is part of my life. I did it long before I got prego with Jake and all along the way with him. (Jake did a marathon at 8wks!) For me, it is comfortable and uncompromising so I keep treakin as long as I feel good.
The race season is almost upon us so get ready for those action sweaty shots in future postings! Chris and I did the Valentines Day Biathlon on Heart day in which he ran a 5k-we all Eskimo kissed at transition-and I completed with a 1000k swim. Jake is learning to love the race mornings as he knows that what comes with a race is the overindulgence of sugary doughnuts and snacks post race. He also cheers for every person who comes along thinking that it is either Dad or Mom finishing their race...so cute.

North Shore Beauty

We headed up to the north shore the other weekend just for some fun in the sun and of course the best sandwiches on earth at Stortos....Yum!

Alright people, take one long last look at those golden curls because...tear drop....tear drop...they are gone:(

The boys got their hair cut! Jake looks more and more like his handsome Dad, but no worries his attitude is becoming more and more like his mamas. Wait a minute....:)

So we have definitely been sucked into he Olympic bubble and watch it almost daily. Except for the USA Hockey game against Canada that was on a different freakin channel!!! Grr. Jake loves to pull out his flag from the 4th and cheer along the athletes...."Go go go!"
These games are so inspiring in so many ways. The obvious athletic dedication and commitment, but even more are the stories behind the athletes, the personal struggles they have overcome to get to the podium on which they stand is just amazing to watch.A
